With all the necessary books and supplies, a backpack is a must-have for any kid attending school, but for an underprivileged family, it is often very difficult to afford. They may have to choose between buying a backpack for their child, or having enough food to feed the family.
Unfortunately, the backpacks available to them are often low quality, wearing out or breaking after only a few months of use. This is a major stressor for families and ends up being more expensive in the long run. We’ve seen so many kids with worn-out or broken backpacks and it’s one of the main requests we receive. Families shouldn’t need to feel so stressed about the prospect of a broken backpack!
$20 a piece will cover the cost of backpacks for every sponsored student for the length of their time in Middle School, including any repairs or replacements needed along the way.
Our goal is to provide 24 backpacks for the children here!
